We are a holiday park in the North East, located just nine miles west of Scotch Corner, on the edge of the A66, and on the border of North Yorkshire, Cumbria and County Durham in the beautiful area that is Teesdale.

We have a farm shop and coffee shop on site, which are open from 9-5, seven days a week. Thorpe Farm Holiday Park is the perfect holiday park in the North East, it is an ideal place for both a family day out in the coming summer months, or a prolonged break from the grind of everyday life. Unwind and relax amongst the beautiful scenery that we have to offer whilst enjoying a delicious meal or a coffee.          

During your stay, why not browse our gift and interior shop. Located next to our farm shop, our gift and interiors shop is a must visit, there is an abundance of unique items for your home, or even gifts for your friends or family.

We also have an antiques and reclamation centre, in which interesting things are sourced everyday, make you to browse around when you visit, you never know what you may find.

Things To Do

All of the walking routes in the local utilise the existing footpath network. The walks cover some of the most scenic views and sites in the area, this includes the banks of the river great and the ‘meeting of the waters’ where the river Greta joins the river tees.

If you have a four-legged friend, why not bring them along too. Or maybe you’d like to get a bit of cycling in, there are an abundance of cycling and walking routes in the local. Whether you are looking for a short relaxing walk, or maybe you prefer a longer cycling route, we have you more than covered.

On site, we also have our very own ‘Maize Maze’. Opened last summer, our maze is open seven days a week from 9am to 4pm. No booking is required, simply turn up and venture out into the maze. We have free parking, and on Sundays, there is a Sunday carvery for those looking to enjoy a delicious meal. You will be glad to know that you can bring your own picnic to maize maze, and the entire centre is dog friendly, however, please keep your dog on a lead at all times whilst going through the maize.

We are a holiday park in the North East, with a lot of local attractions nearby. One of those attractions is Barnard Castle. Barnard Castle is a spectacular place to visit for the family, and for those wanting to explore and delve into the history of the area. You can picnic on the grounds, with an adult admission costing £7, however, English heritage members can access the grounds for free.

Another place you may want to visit is high force waterfall. It is the largest waterfall in England. There is a short scenic walk through a woodland area, which is around a third of a mile, with several resting points along the way. You can get to the top of waterfall after climbing roughly seventy steps.
